FriendsFinder Privacy Policy

We collect information you provide, including account name, public name, username, email address, date of birth, gender information, profile details, interests, friendship preferences, photos, messages, Groups, Meetups, reports, appeals, and other content or settings you choose to use.

We also process technical and usage information such as IP address, browser or device information, authentication and security events, application logs, notification activity, and interactions needed to operate and protect the service.

If you enable location-dependent features, FriendsFinder may process city, state, latitude and longitude, location-update time, approximate nearby presence, and short-lived Crossed Paths information. These features are optional. Public APIs are designed not to expose precise coordinates to other members.

We use information to create and secure accounts; provide discovery, friendship, messaging, Groups, Meetups, photos, notifications, and location features; personalize results; enforce preferences; prevent fraud and abuse; investigate reports; maintain reliability; communicate with members; and comply with law.

Information you intentionally publish or share is visible according to the feature and your settings. We may provide information to vendors that perform hosting, database, object storage, email delivery, analytics, security, and other operational services for us.

We may disclose information when required by law, to protect a person or the service, to investigate misuse, or in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets. FriendsFinder does not currently sell personal information for money or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

FriendsFinder uses cookies and similar technologies for authentication, security, preferences, and service operation. When enabled, Google Analytics receives website and device activity to help us understand use of public and member pages. We do not intentionally send Google names, email addresses, usernames, message contents, or precise GPS coordinates.

We retain information while an account is active and as reasonably needed to operate the service, preserve security and moderation records, prevent fraud, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal obligations. Different records may have different retention periods. Account-deletion controls remove or de-identify information subject to legitimate safety, integrity, backup, and legal exceptions.

Members can update profile information and privacy settings, control visibility, disable optional location features, manage notifications, block other members, and request account deletion. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain information, or to appeal a denied request. We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the information processed, but no online service can promise absolute security. FriendsFinder is operated from the United States; accessing it elsewhere may involve transfer and processing in the United States and other locations used by service providers.

FriendsFinder is for adults age 18 and older and is not directed to children. If we learn that an ineligible minor provided personal information, we may close the account and delete information as appropriate.

We may update this policy as FriendsFinder changes. Material updates will receive a new effective date and, when appropriate, additional notice or renewed acknowledgment.
